HUF HAUS
OXFORD
It was wonderful to be asked to design a landscape for this Huf Haus set on a steep hillside overlooking Oxford.
The project caused quite a stir in the locality so we had to work carefully to keep the clients and the neighbours happy.
Working alongside the strict design and logistics of Huf proved challenging at times as we had to comply with British Building Regulations as well a German design.
The steep bank into which the house was set needed to be carefully managed for a household with three young boys who wanted to play football and run amok.
We created a flat lawn for ball games, a basket ball area, cantilever steps to the lower garden, a wildflower meadow with multiple paths, and a kitchen garden.
Working alongside Haddingham Kirk Ltd as our contractors we were also able to bespoke make fences and entrance gates.
I have included here many of the construction images to illustrate just how much work goes into a project of this scale. This was only built a few years ago so the meadow and planting should be ready to photograph this summer.
This project was created for Sarah Naybour Design Ltd by Sarah Naybour & Olivia Stewart
